Lavender Hill Produce Story
Lavender Hill Produce was established in 2001 at Pakenham Upper to make use of the harvest from our small but productive orchard and vegetable garden, where our chickens and ducks keep the bugs down without sprays or chemicals, and provide us with fresh free range eggs for our cooking. We grow apples, pears, plums, cherries, berries, rhubarb, lemons, tomatoes and pumpkin, and we have 90 olive trees. We supplement our home grown fruit and vegies with locally grown to create our range of jams, chutneys and cordial including Apricot Jam, Lemon Curd, Plum Jam, Quince Jelly, Cumquat Marmalade, Tomato Chutney, Plum Sauce, and a spicy Pumpkin Chutney.
At Christmas, we also make Fruit Cakes and Christmas Puddings, and continue with the fruit cakes during the year. At the markets we like to provide our customers with tastings of our range to help them choose their favourite jam or chutney, and we have printed sheets of suggestions for using our chutneys and sauces to spice up your cooking.
